Plain-dyed georgette is 100% polyester fabric and is 60" wide. This georgette fabric is a sheer and light-weight fabric, displaying an overall bouncy look. Georgette fabric is very similar to chiffon in both drape and feel but tends to be slightly heavier. With its crepe-like texture and its unusual strength, georgette is widely favored for voluminous and lively gowns and dresses.
This fabric is excellent to use as overlays, sheer inserts, scarves and drape extensions. Our designers also use georgette to accessorize their designs, due to its highly absorbent nature. I am planning to make a ghost costume with this fabric and it is the coolest pattern I have ever seen but I was having difficulty finding this material for less than $10/yd. Luckily I found FWD and I am very pleased. I placed my order right at the beginning of the covid quarantine so shipping was delayed but still arrived in plenty of time.
