How to sew crepe back satin?
Crepe Back Satin is very easy to sew. Secure Crepe Back Satin with clothespins or weights instead of pushpins to avoid leaving any unwanted holes in the fabric. Secure Crepe Back Satin fabric even further by using a layer of tissue paper between the two pieces of fabric; this will prevent the two fabrics from slipping. When sewing with Crepe Back Satin fabric, use a thin and sharp needle (10/70) to avoid causing any tears or snags, and a small stitching lengths to prevent any puckering. When choosing a thread, use a matieral similar to the fiber content of the Crepe Back Satin fabric to ensure the same level of elasticity. Lastly, finish the edges and seams of Crepe Back Satin fabric by hand or with an overlock / serger machine to prevent any fraying.
How to press crepe back satin?
Crepe Back Satin can be pressed or ironed very easily. Prior to pressing or ironing, protect the crepe back satin fabric by using a press cloth in between the fabric and press or iron. Set the press or iron to 300°F, 148°C, silk, polyester, or low temperature setting. After following these instructions, the Crepe Back Satin fabric is now ready to be pressed or ironed.
What lining fabric for satin crepe back fabric?
Any lining can be used with crepe back satin fabric; however if sewing with the ‘crepe’ or ribbed side facing outwards, no lining is necessary, as the smooth, lustrous side can be used instead.
