Stretch Velvet fabric is a soft and stretchy fabric that features short, raised fibers on its face, and a smooth back. Stretch Velvet is manufactured using a face-to-face technique that essentially connects two separate pieces with an overlapping pile. The piles are then cut down the middle, splitting into two Stretch Velvet fabrics with smooth backs and plush faces. Woven with a 90% polyester, 10% spandex fiber blend, Stretch Velvet can stretch 40% vertically. Stretch Velvet fabric measures 58/60 inches wide, is 0.66 millimeters thick, has a 330 GSM, and weighs approximately 18 ounces per linear yard. This Stretch Velvet features a uniquely high GSM compared to alternatives, which gives this fabric a luxurious and more fluid drape when hung. Durable and strong, Stretch Velvet fabric has a 10,000 double rub count and a colorfastness grade of 4.5, meaning this fabric can withstand medium-traffic wear and tear without transferring or bleeding colors.
