Description
Micro velvet is a medium weight high quality fabric that has a smooth back and a textured 100% polyester velvet front. This velvet is extremely soft and plus that it is even comparable to silk velvet fabrics. The polyester content makes it ideal for washing, although we do recommend taking extra care, such as hand washing this fabric in order to retain the high quality of the fabric. This luxuriously soft velvet is a non-stretch fabric that is slightly heavier gsm than its stretch velvet counterpart.
This fabric is available in large quantities in numerous colors, and can be used for numerous applications. It is great for apparel such as dresses, jackets and pants, as well as costumes, upholstery and decorative purposes. This fabric is also perfect for crafts and various creative projects.
With thousands of yards available, in numerous colors, you are sure to find the exact velvet that works for you. This fabric is manufactured by Fabric Wholesale Direct, cut to order and sold by the yard.

Gorgeous fabric
While it *is* challenging to sew, it was worth the trouble. Use a walking foot and lots of pins/clips.

Red Microvelvet
This was used to make a Santa suit, so for my purposes, the the purchase was a great with it being sich reasonable price. However, the fabric is very thin. So thin, that when I held it up in front of my sewing machine, u could see thru it, which I wouldn't find acceptable had I been making something to be worn out. It would also work well for baby or child clothing but wouldn't recommend for formal wear, evening wear, etc
